Located in South Australian Wine Country, the Barossa is famous for its World Famous Wine and Beautiful Country Side.
The Barossa Valley is names after the Barossa Ranges, named by Colonel William Light around 1837. The area is approximately 13 km long by 14 km wide. Germans and the English arrives in the 1840's, both soon discovering the rich soils to be perfect for Vineyards.
The Barossa Valley is about an hour's drive from the airport in Adelaide, with transport facilities minimal to the area, so either rent a car or book a seat with Barossa Valley Coaches (Barossa-Adelaide), which travel to the Barossa from Adelaide and Gawler.
